The National Book Development Board (NBDB) is inviting writers of literary works and trade books to take part in the first session of Limbag Kapihan, entitled “Publishing Realities Writers Must Know.”
The first Limbag Kapihan will be held on March 3, Monday, 1:00 p.m., at the NBDB office at Unit 2401, Prestige Tower, F. Ortigas Jr. Road (formerly Emerald Ave.), Ortigas Center, Pasig City. Limbag Kapihan is the first in a series of meetings with the players in the publishing industry. It aims to provide a venue for sharing relevant information and discuss issues that involve various stakeholders in the publishing industry.
This first meeting, dedicated to writers, will host a discussion on the publishing industry supply chain, writers’ rights, copyright issues, and current publishing standards. Other facets of publishing--such as printing and distribution, as well as readers’ perspectives--will also be tackled.
The NBDB is a government entity tasked with the development of the book publishing industry. It conducts various activities that seeks to promote readership and authorship among Filipinos. The NBDB is under the Department of Education and works with other government entities and private organization in formulating policy affecting book development in the country.
